Storyboard Text

  • As a kid, I was always interested in reading. My first books were large books with colorful illustrations, which then  slowly transitioned towards chapter books, and eventually book series.
  • I would read anywhere and everywhere. I was either in my own world reading or multitasking.
  • As years passed, reading became less of a pleasure to do, and more of an assignment. It went from being excited to read the next book series to dreading to read for class.
  • Sophomore year in high school, I read Mother to Mother for class. While no one else seemed interested in the book enough to even finish it, this was the first book that I enjoyed reading and was for class.
  • As I continued my academic career, more and more books that were initially for class purposes became my favorite books to recommend for others to read.
  • I've come to realize that while purely reading for pleasure might be more difficult for me now, I might be able to pick that back up knowing that I still enjoy reading here and there.
