Storyboard Text

  • Hello I am here to teach about Canadian history.
  • First of all, Canadians had to wash their clothes by hand and dry them on ropes before the 1950s.
  • Next they delivered mail by dog sled from Fort Mcmurray to Fort Chipwan. The fastest way to travel is by boat and the fastest boat was a canoe.
  • In the dog sleds, the one closest  to the person was called the wheel dog which is the one who controls the dog sled.
  • The babies would sleep in hamocks with strings and a cushion in the middle. When they went travelling, they would put the baby in a mosque bag.Random fact the cabins only live a number of years before it collapse.
  • The priest wore long robes and there were a lot of fur traders. The skinners have to make sure all of the flesh is off so they had to use a knife and they put it in a hoop.
  • The first school in Fort Mckay was in 1950. Every grade was in the same classroom and most people only went up to grade four.
  • In the 1900's they don't have steel traps so,they used sharp rocks for traps and spears.
  • And the only way to wash their  clothes is to go to the lake and fill a bucket with water , bring it back to the farm and clean them by hand.
  • Also they used animal fur to make hats, gloves, muck lucks[boots]and other clothes.
  • Kids didn't   have a lot of hobbies back then so they learned skills.
  • See you all later peace out.
