  • In the classroom children are tought that the Pilgrims sat down and had a great time eating turkey and giving thanks.
  • Now we know that the Pilgrims did not first land at Plymouth Rock, instead they land in Cape Cod after a 66 day voyage and everything isn't as pleasing as it was made out to be when we were children.
  • When the Pilgrims made it to Plymouth, they run into the Wampanoag Indians in which they could not communicate with.
  • The Pilgrims endure many hardships through their time here in the U.S and without the Wampanoag Indians they would have likely never made it.
  • The Pilgrims and the Wampanoags come together that was not just a dinner, but a celebration lasting 3 days. Thanksgiving was celebrated in hopes of good things to come. Many animals were eaten such as duck and venicen, but turkey was not one of them.
