Napoleon was born on Aug. 15th, 1769, in Ajaccio, Corsica at his parent's house.
Overthrow of French Government
Napoleon attended military school in Brienne, the Champagne region from May 1779 to Oct. 1784. He was also a lone-wolf due to bullying because of his Corsican accent, and as a result focused solely on his studies.
Napoleon made First Consul
Napoleon landed in Egypt on July 1, 1798 with a fleet of 400 ships and 54,000 men and the intention to forcefully invade the country to gain complete control.
The French Revolution lasted 10 years, from 1789 to 1799. Beginning on July 14, revolutionaries stormed the Bastille for weapons & supplies. The revolution ended when General Napoleon established the French Consulate.
Also known as the Coup of 18 Brumaire, Napoleon rises to power as the First Consul of France for life, crowning himself as emperor in August of 1802 as a result of the Gov't being overthrown.
Napoleon created many reforms, one of the most well-known being the Napoleonic Code. Also known as the French civil code, it was established by the French Consulate in 1804. The Napoleonic Code divided law into 4 sections: persons, property, acquisition of property, civil procedure.
