  • The Shilo battle started because of the Confederates. They started the battle by leading a surprise attack on the Union.
  • Results
  • The battle took place at the Shilo Church. The confederates made a surprise attack on the Union forcing them back to a defensive perimeter. The confederates couldn't hold their place and had to withdraw.
  • The Shiloh battle took place in Tennessee behind the Shiloh Church.
  • The Union won the Shiloh Battle because the confederates were forced back. In result of them winning they got a greater control on the Mississippi River.
