"Tony look a perfect pair of those nike sneakers every one talks about"
"they are dropping them off at a store"
"I think so"
"wait for free?!"
"what are they doing with all those nice clothes?"
'I'm not sure, lets just go look"
"ok but what are we doing"
my family is not rich but we still have a strong bond we just value different things. one day me and my brother Harold we're walking around town when we saw a wealthy white family dropping off clothes.
"my pocket stupid"
"where did you get that from"
I was thinking we should get closer, just to look, ya know but it amazed me they were just going to get rid of this stuff
"get the heck out of here hood rats"
"u-u-umm if your just going to get rid of those clothes and shoes can we just buy them "
we presumed to walk forward trying not to look suspicious, not that we were going to do anything
Once we got close to the white man and woman i reached into my pocket and found 7$ to try and make a deal with the family
We tried to make a deal but in the end we kept our money and got the clothes and the shoes so i guess it worked out
We waled away from the scene and Harold seemed fine, unaffected at that but it hurt me, we were judged of the color of our skin not by the content of our character.
