Storyboard Text

  • Once upon a time there was a little blue cell who was on her way to go see her grandma living deep in the forests
  • Little Blue Cell always found it interesting how similar grandma and her looked, they were very similar with the same types of ribosomes and size. They even had the same type of chromosome shape and number
  • Little did she know that an anaerobic cell had just gone through the cabin and eaten grandma
  • When Little Blue Cell finally arrived, she was surprised to find that grandma looked different
  • Oh Grandma! What big size you are! and has something happened to your chromosome?
  • Don't worry, I've just been eating a few different things lately, and I'm sure my chromosomes are just fine
  • Yay! Another snack for later
  • I brought you some of your favorite environment: a little piece of aerobic environment
  • I thought oxygen has been around since aerobic cells have been around, so grandma must've been able to process oxygen if she's an aerobic cell like me
  • I can't take that oxygen, I'm really an anaerobic cell, she'll see that my electron transport chain isn't on my plasma membrane
  • I just can't process oxygen, it wasn't around back in my day
  •  Grandma, you're hugging a bit too tight! I feel like I'm going to be consumed by you
  • MWAHHAHAH! I was never your grandma! I consumed her and now she provides me with the ability to consume oxygen!
  • It's been nice, why don't we hug and then we can be on our way
  • The cells lived happily ever after in their new relationship
  • Grandma? Is that you? I thought this cell consumed you
  • Welp, I guess I'm now part of the Eukaryote's system
  • It's pretty neat, we still get to keep our own size, ribosome type and electron transport chain. We can even replicate just as we did before
  • It's just a little weird because this cell has a different type of ribosome, size and replication process, as well as a different type of DNA
  • Well, he did at first, but now we live in a symbiotic relationship. He protects me and I process oxygen for him
  • Hey there sweetie!
