  • Let's talk about the Acts. It will be interesting to learn about!
  • Yes Sir, I think its time we establish  more rules.
  • Let us tax these colonists for about everything they have.
  • All these taxes are making me frustrated!
  • Me too, its unfair to my family!
  • Molly is spending the day with her grandmother, who decides to talk to her about the 4 acts, starting around 1764, England.
  • I'm losing more money everday! I need to pay for food.
  • I agree! This is ridiculous. Its happening again!
  • The Plantation Act, or Sugar Act was passed on April 5, 1764. It was enacted by the British against the colonists for the purpose of raising revenue.A year before, the French and Indians went to war with the British.
  • I do agree with you, I'll see what I can do.
  • They need to be punished for their crimes!
  • The British taxed the colonists for things like Molasses, and the act imposed new duties on wine coffee, and other foreign textiles. The Act angered colonists because they had to pay more taxes, and the acts passed without their consent.
  • Let us prove our points!
  • The Townshend Acts were acts passed by the British Parliament in 1767. The duties went into effect on November 20th, 1767. This act caused even more tension between Britain and American colonists.
  • The Intolerable Acts were five laws that were passed by the Britsh colonies against the American colonies in 1774. The American Patriots felt they simply could not tolerate unfair laws. It was punishment for the Boston Tea Paty.
  • The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament again, on March 22, 1765. Few colonists believed that they could do anything, and buy stamps until the Virginia house of burgess adopted Patrick Henry's Stamp Act Resolves.
