Monkey's paw pt 1
I wish for 200 pounds!
Major Morris arrives at the White's residence.
Interesting. Faces in the fire.
Morris tells the White family about his adventures on duty. He gives Herbert the Monkey's Paw, of which Morris is hesitant of talking about. He then wishes everyone a good night, and heads home.
Mrs White suggests the idea of wishing for 200 pounds to pay off rent.
Let's hope the money doesn't fall from the sky onto your head, father! Well, I'm off to work!
Herbert wishes his parents a good night, and waits for the fire to burn out. While he's waiting, hes sees many faces in the fire, including a monkey's face. He then puts out the fire.
Mr. and Mrs. White are sleeping after an exciting day of storytelling and wishmaking.
Herbert makes some joking remarks about the paw before leaving for work.
