South Korea was invaded by North Korea in September 26, 1950. Later South Korea then pushed North Korea all the way back to basically China. China said to close and pushed them back into South Korea.

The US tried to contain communism to the Soviets. They were trying to keep it there so that eventually their economy would collapse but it got to China.
It all started when North Korea's army passed the 38th parallel to attack South Korea. Then South Korea drove them back and China drove South Korea back later on.
The Korean War was basically the US trying to contain communism but it got to China. Later on it was a back an forth with North Korea and South Korea and then South Korea getting driven back by China. They then signed a Armistice Agreement.
