  • WHO´S THERE!!!
  • The summary for the exposition is that the narrator admits that he has an illness but he says over and over again that he is not mad and his illness has made his senses stronger. All the characters during the story are: Narrator, The old man, and police officers.
  • Climax
  • The main summary for the conflict is that it is Man vs. Self because he is insane and is trying to prove that he is sane. And he also has a huge issue with time. My inference is that he didn't have enough time with his family.
  • Falling Action
  • The summary for the rising action is that the narrator tryed to sneak into the old mans room again on the 8th night then the old man woke up and screamed.
  • Resolution
  • The summary for the climax is that the narrator put pulled the old man under the mattress to suffocate him. The old mans heart muffled for several minutes after he put the mattress over the old man. Then the heartbeat stopped, the old man was dead.
  • lub, dub, lub, dub...
  • The summary for the falling action is after the old man died the narrator put the body under the floorboard and then the police came.

  • The summary of the whole story is that the narrator is insane and as issues with time. He also had problems with the old man's eye so that's why he killed the old man.
