Storyboard Text

  • On October 28, 1754, John Laurens was born to wealthy rice farmers in South Carolina.
  • Unfortunately, after he had become the oldest of 5 (surviving) children, his mother died.
  • After this, his father took him and his younger brother to London to study. He then went to Switzerland to go to college.
  • After being appointed as George Washington's aide-de-campe, it seemed that his dream of leading a battalion of African-Americans could become reality.
  • This, however, was not possible, as he was killed by a soldier from Britain who hadn’t heard of his country's surrender.
  • However, thanks to John Laurens, (and the widespreading of the knowledge of his existence thanks to Hamilton) people everywhere know...
  • DONT BE RACIST!!!!!
