  • Looks
  • In the lynch mob Scout approached Mr. Cunningham and starts talking to him. Without realizing, Scout is calming Mr. Cunningham down. Although Scout can be comforting she can be mean as well. Scout says "What in the Sam Hill are you doing, Walter?" (Foote 33). This shows how she can be judgemental and mean to others.
  • Overview
  • Scout has beat up Walter and the kid who said something bad about her. Even though Scout is a girl she is not afraid to hold her ground and prove her point. on page 24 , Jem says, "I swear you act more like a girl all the time." Jem is saying the Scout doesn't usually act so girly but more like a tomboy.
  • "Scout, six, dressed in blue jeans." (Foote 6). This quote describes Scout as being a young, tomboy type of girl. Scout says "I still don't see why I have to wear a darn old dress. (Foote 30). This tells us that Scout doesn't like wearing dresses at all.
  • Overall, Scout is a mature young girl who is very independent. She loves her family and would do anything to defend them. Though, she is just a little clueless girl she makes the best of all situations thrown before her eyes.
