  • Of course I can, let's begin!
  • Hey Sarah I am having a hard time understanding the Suns 's layers. Let's test each other on the terminology?
  • Apparent Magintude is if the brightness can be seen from Earth.Absolute magnitude is how bright the star is.
  • The Sun has 6 layers in total and has special features that makes it unique!
  • I rember Mrs. Tilly takling about apparent and abosutle magitude what is the differnce?
  • Soooo, about this Sun of ours?!
  • Did you know that the mass of a star can affect its lifespan? The star will need the elemnts to burn and survive. The larger the star the shorter the lifespan, the smaller the star the longer the lifespan.
  • Did you know that a stars main sequence can last up to millions of years? Did you also know that if you have to make a graph about the stars or the Sun? You can use the HR Diagram , which help graph a stars temp and location.
  • I remember Mrs.Tilly was giving us a review for the test. Do you remember these 4 terms: Protostar, Red Giant, nebula, and Planetary nebula.
  • Thanks, I really need to remeber that.
  • A protostar is a ball of dust and gases that has not reached a high enough temp to become a star.
  • A planetary nebula is when the outer shell of a Red Giant drifts out into space.
  • Of course, a nebula is an instellar medium has clumped together, creating a huge cloud full of gas and dust.
  • A Red Giant is when the outer shell of a star becomes orange or red.
  • Do you remember theses other 5 terms: Composition of stars, instellar medium, fusion, positron, deuterium and White Dwarf?
  • Instellar medium means is made up of small particles of dust and gas that exists in the stars.
  • Fusion is the process of combing two protons with two neutrons. And Positron is the antiparticle or the antimatter counterpart of the electron.
  • A White Dwarf are the cores of Red Giants that have lost their outer layers.
  • Deuterium means is rare form of hydrogen that has both the proton and neutron in its nucleus.
  • A composition of stars means their cores are fusing hydrogen to create helium.
  • I think we did a awesome job, Good luck on the test!
  • You too Sarah, see you tomorrow!
