  • Freak The Mighty Conflict - Man vs. Self
  • At preschool, many years ago..
  • The day Freak moved next door...
  • No, that doesn't go over there, it goes over there
  • How we met again...
  • I never had a brain until Freak came along and let me borrow his for a while, and that's the truth, the whole truth.
  • Called me Kicker for a time - this was at day care.  That's when I got my first look at Freak. Looking sort of fierce, is how  I remember him.  Except later it was Freak himself who taught me that remembering is a great invention of the mind. For some reason little kicker never got around to kicking little Freak. Maybe it was those crutches kept me from lashing out at him.
  • Um, what does that mean?
  • Isn't the sunset just so enticing?
  • It just simply means absolutly beautiful!
  • Then I see the Fair Gwen. At first she's a glimpse. I'm thinking, hey I know her. And the reason she looked familiar is, I must have seen her bringing Freak to day care, way back in the dark ages, because the next thing I notice is this crippled-up yellow haired midget kid strutting around the sidewalk, giving orders to the bearded movers.
  • Come with me, earthling if you want to see the world!
  • Then I'm thinking, what the heck is the little freak doing. He is hitting a stick at a little scraggly tree, trying to get down a model plane or something. Seeing him struggle, I pick out the airplane from the tree and hand it to him.
  • So that's the story, how we became Freak the Mighty. Going on quests and saving the world.
  • Before I met Freak, I always just hid away, closing myself off to the world. Now, I learn from him. His strength, bravery, intelligence, friendliness and imagination. He has inspired me to step out of my cave, and explore the world. I don't like to admit it, but he is a great friend, probably my best. With his brain and my strength, we conquered the world in our own way, as Freak the Mighty!
