  • the attack on pearl harbor started on  December 7, 1941. The total number of military personnel killed was 2,335, including 2,008 navy personnel, 109 marines, and 218 army. Added to this were 68 civilians, making the total 2403 people dead. 1,177 were from the USS Arizona.
  • President Roosevelt ultimately sided with Secretary Stimson and Secretary Knox and issued Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942. The order resulted in the creation of "relocation" and internment camps for 120,000 Japanese Americans.
  • the soldiers left their home to go fight for their country in ww2 . a lot of men went to war even knowing that they couldve lost their lives.
  • The Invasion of Normandy. On June 6, 1944 the Allied Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France. With a huge force of over 150,000 soldiers, the Allies attacked and gained a victory 
  • During the final stage of World War II, the United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively
  • after the war the soldiers came back home with their families and started a new live and got new jobs.
