Welcome! Nutrition is the supply of food which is required by organisms and cells to stay alive. Nutrition is important for you because it provides the body with energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins, and minerals to function, live, and grow properly. Every person needs different types of food to furnish with the right amounts of nutrients.
Did you know that a can of Coca-Cola has 39 grams of sugar? 29 grams is a lot of sugar for a tiny can of soda. A person has to do a 100 jumping jacks to burn off a minimum of 200 calories that are in a soda can. There are more than 28 grams of sugars in a bag and/or packet of mm's.
Eating healthy allows students to have the energy to perform well in school and sports. Foods that contain a lot of nutrients and vitamins offer a long digestion time, giving you a slower and stable release of energy. The longer the digestion will take, the longer your energy will last.
