  • The Proclamation Act  of 1763
  •     The Stamp Act and Its Repeal of  1765
  • The Townshend Acts of  1765
  • After Britain won the French & Indian War, they gained land in North America. It issued the   Proclamation of 1763, which wouldn't allow American colonists from settling west of Appalachia.
  • The Boston Massacre 1770
  • The Stamp Act was a law passed by Parliament taxing all paper used for printed materials in the colonies. The Stamp Act was stopped by Benjamin Franklin  after constant protesting.
  • The Tea Act and Boston Tea Party of 1773
  • Series of laws passed by the British government on the American colonies. They placed new taxes on paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea.
  • The Intolerable Acts of  1774
  •  A  street fight that occurred between a  mob of colonists, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, at a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led colonists to hate the British even more.
  • Colonists had never gotten over the Tea Act. They dressed up as Indians and boarded the 3 East India Company ships and dumped their loads of tea overboard.  They did this because  Britain started taxes their teas and they were forced to buy tea.
  • After the Boston Tea Party occurred the docks were closed down and Britain sent even more soldiers. Soldiers were given permission to quarter, meaning they could move into their house and so colonists were forced to take care of them. This made them very angry at Britain.
