  • The Indian Removal ActBy Valentina Castladi
  • Their land belongs to us! The Indians will have to move somewhere else
  • You can't just kick the Indians out of their home!
  • Fine then! They will have two years to get out of their or we will make them!
  • The Indian Removal Act was signed by President Andrew Jackson. This law forced the Indian tribes to move out of their homelands and keep on moving towards the west.
  • Davy Crockett completed opposed the idea of the Indian Removal Act and complained to Jackson about it.
  • Jackson agreed to give the Indians at least two years to abandon their homeland for good
  • After the two years were up, the Indians had still not left their homeland. So the soldiers had to come in a force them out.
  • The soldiers took the Indians led them out of their homeland and traveled along side with up a trail though the west which became known as the "Trail of Tears".
