Negotiating a raise

Negotiating a raise

Storyboard Text

  • Yes, Mr. Rogers. I wanted to discuss a raise of my salary.
  • So, John, you wanted to discuss something with me, right?
  • My salary at the moment is 1000 $ + 10% out of sales. I need it to be raised to 1500 $. What can I do for that?
  • Hmmm...our company is going though a lot right now. I don't see how I can raise your salary.
  • I only do cold-calls at the moment. But I could undergo training and attend client meetings myself.
  • Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of client meetings going on. Our sales board has a lot of spare time.
  • I see. What about lowering my salary to 700 $, but raising my comission to 30%? I would feel even more motivated to increase the sales.
  • Hm, that would decrease the fixed costs and move to the variable ones. That would benefit me financially.
  • Thank you so much, Mr. Rogers! You know I will not disappoint you.
  • Fine! I think we can work this one out, John.
  • With the amount of deals I close, I'll be on the board of sales by the end of the year and do those damned meetings myself.
  • Good luck, John! Make the deals pour in.
