Storyboard Text

  • Election of 1828
  • I think we should vote for Jackson, he's a man of the people and he supports state rights.
  • The Spoils System
  • Both of you are fired! Go now!
  • Worcester vs. Georgia
  • The court has ruled the Cherokee are a separate nation, and the arrest against Worcester is invalid.
  • In the Election of 1828, Jackson ran as a Democrat and Adams ran as a Republican. Jackson gained many followers in the South as well because he supported states' rights.
  • Indian Removal Act
  • You're coming with us!!
  • The Spoils System is where the president replaces federal workers with people who supported them. I agree with this because you wouldn't want to work with people who dislike you.
  • Trail of Tears
  • My family is dead, I don't think we can keep going..
  • The case was between Sam Worcester and the state of Georgia. He sued them because he was arrested and the court ruled that the Cherokees were separate. I agree, they shouldn't have to be subject to the U.S.
  • Fact About Andrew Jackson
  • Lyncoya come here!!
  • The act authorized the president to grant unsettled land west of the Mississippi in exchange for Indian land. It happened because settlers wanted new land.
  • The Trail of Tears was a trail the Indians were forced to march to Oklahoma. They walked over 1,000 miles. About 4,000 of the Indians died out of the 12,000.
  • That he adopted 2 Native American boys. This was interesting because he had signed the Indian Removal Act and had made campaigns against them.
