So, you want to know how the president is elected?
The president is chosen through three different systems that lead to the presidential election. The three systems are: caucuses, primaries and the election.
A caucus is when people from the same political party register their preference of who they believe should be elected among the candidates. Not every state uses this system.
Primaries are when people vote on who they believe who should be elected as president. Open primaries are open to the public and closed primaries are open to party members only.
The National Primaries are when the party members join to decide who should be nominated as president.
A presidential candidate is elected when they reach enough electoral votes in the election, the number of electoral votes vary in each state.
