Storyboard Text

  • Chapter 9
  • After lessons...
  • Mercy, can I tell a little story to the kids?
  • Yes, you can, but be carefully
  • With the kids...
  • Now, I´m going to tell you the story of the Good Samaritan of the Bible.
  • Kit teaches the older children to read, but she´s not a particularly patient person, so she uses “ingenious tricks” and rhymes to keep the children’s attention.
  • Just at that time...
  • What's going on here?
  • Everything is my fault.
  • Mercy allows Kit to tell the children a story, though she worries a bit that storytelling is indulgent.
  • After that...
  • Kit gets the brilliant idea to tell the story of the Good Samaritan from the Bible.
  • In the Great Meadow...
  • Mr. Kimberly, the schoolmaster, and Reverend John Woodbridge walk through the door for an inspection of the school. They demand to know the meaning of all this, and Kit takes the blame.
  • The men decide to fire Kit and Mercy starts to cry, so Kit flees to Great Meadow where she sobs, moans and falls asleep.
  • When she wakes, she saw a woman, it was Hannah, the woman they call the witch of Blackbird Pond. She says that the Meadow has spoken to her and Kit feels a sense of peace and calm, so they go to Hannah´s house
