  • Tom Benecke decides to stay at home after telling his wife that he would not go with her to the movies, because he is working on a project since a long time ago. Tom feels that is hot inside the apartment, so he decides to open a window.
  • Falling Action
  • Come on! Open!
  • After he opens the window, a current of wind flies a yellow paper from his desk. The paper was research of weeks that could bring good things to him. As he approaches the window, he notices that the paper is out on the ledge, and he does not know if he should go outside and recover it or give up.
  • Resolution
  • Tom slides along the wall until he reaches the corner where the paper is, as he bends down to grab it, he sees the street below and start to panic since his apartment is eleven stories above the Lexington Avenue. He immediately looks up, but he almost loses his balance and is unable to move because of the fear.
  • Alternate Ending
  • After being able to move and recovering the paper, he slides down the wall, as he is arriving to his apartment he stumbles, so he grasps onto the window and that action makes the window close, after he tries to gain his neighborhoods attention but no one sees him, he gives up. Finally, he punches the window and it breaks, so he pulls himself inside.
  • After being inside his apartment, Tom decides to grab a coat from his closet and go meet Clare, as he is ready to leave, he watches how the wind picks up the paper and makes it go out of the window again, and he just laughs and close the door.
  • After recovering the yellow paper, Tom Benecke decides to continue working on his project that would bring good things to him and to the company he works for.
