Odysseus and his men stumbled on a cave that had food and stopped to build a fire and replenish their energy.
The owner of it all was Polyphemus, a Cyclops who was the son of Poseidon. He shut the cave with a huge boulder, trapping everyone inside.
Who are you? Are you wandering rogues that ravage other folk by sea?
We come from Troy and are trying to go home. Please show us hospitality.
You are tiny and yet you try and order me? You will be my dinner!
I can't kill him because he's the only one who can move the boulder!
Odysseus made a plan. He told the Cyclops he was "Nobody" and was going to strike him in the eye after he got him drunk on wine.
Polyphemus was screaming as he was blinded, but all he could tell the other Cyclops who came to help was that he was tricked by Nobody.
We can escape with the sheep when he opens the doors for them!
Polyphemus couldn't see that they were escaping through his sheep, and they got out of the cave.
