Storyboard Text

  • Hey Sissy! I need you to babysit Ryan and Abby during lunch tomorrow!!
  • Hey honey!! Of course I can! Even Noah has been dying to see them!
  • Hey mom, Can I invite some of my friends over for lunch tomorrow? Pleaseee!!!
  • Of course!! Thanks mom you're the best!!
  • Yes, even your cousins will be dropping in. Is that okay?
  • Is everything okay hon? You seem very confused!
  • Noah wants to host a lunch party tomorrow. But I don't know how many pasta sauce bottles I need to buy.
  • You can solve that using Direct Variation.  Let the Number of people = k* The number of bottles.  Solve for k. Then substitute your new values into the equation including the value of k, then solve for y.
  • HAHAHA....How many people does one bottle serve?
  • Hmmmm.... It serves 2 people. But there are around 10 kids coming.
  • Okay let me try that tomorrow!
  • So if 2 people needed = k*1 bottle. Then k = 2/1= 2. But now I have 10 people so , 10 = 2*number of bottles needed. Therefore,  bottles = 10/2 = 5 bottles.
  • Thanks mom! You're the best chef ever!
