  • George Washington commanded French troops and the continental army that consisted of 7,000 soldiers to begin the siege or the battle of Yorktown. While General Cornwallis commanded 9,000 of his British soldiers. George Washington picked Yorktown for the location of the battle because on land there would be the soldiers and on water, there would be the french's fleet that would ensure to block Cornwallis' escape.
  • George washington commanded the continental and French troops to surround general Cornwallis and make him seem scared for the battle and they succeededfor that mission. For three non stop weeks the british and the the troops kept fighting each other. Having no mercy or sympathy for the others. They fought with force and the fact of knowing their country will finally be free from Britain's abuse.
  • General Cornwallis finally surrendered and due to the fact that this was the last most important war in American Revolution History the war came to an end and the colonists finally gained freedom. The victory of Yorktown created peace agreements and on October 19, 1781 the Treaty Of Paris was signed claiming and recognizing The USA as a free country and a country that doesn't have to follow parliament's laws and abuse.
