Acrisios, the king of Argos, was told that his grandson would be the one to cause his death, so he hid his daughter, Danae, in a tower where she would never marry.
Zeus had found where Danae was hidden and he fell in love with her. He used golden rain and used it's magic to give Danae a child. Thus, Perseus was born.
Acrisos was furious about the birth so he put Danae and Perseus into a chest and threw them into the sea. They were found by a fisherman and were then taken in by the king Polydectes.
Polydectes wanted to challenge Perseus so he sent him to kill Medusa. Perseus was handed gifts from the gods and was able to successfully walk out of Medusa's cave with her head in hand.
Perseus decided to visit his granpa. Acrisios, but Acrisios was still scared and decided to flee in order to be as far away from Perseus as possible.
Perseus decided to participate in some carnival games. He was a good athlete and tried in the discus contest. But the disk swerved and accidentally hit Acrisios. Perseus was very upset and then went to create a city of his own-Mycenae.
