  • Where do trains come from?
  • Well, in the Industrial Revolution, Thomas Savery made the first steam engine! This allowed trains to be made which could transport resources like coal and steel from everywhere. Now we can visit our friends and family much easier because of this advanced mode of transportation, that came from the Industrial Revolution.
  • I have the same exact toy at home! How?
  • This is known as Mass production! This is only possible because of the Industrial Revolution. Mass production is making the same exact thing, really fast and easily. It allows the exact same thing to be made around the world
  • What do you do here?
  • I am a Labour Relations Representative. I help the workers in the factory get better pay and working conditions. A long time ago, factory workers would have low pay and no breaks. Although towards the end of the Industrial Revolution, they made unions. These unions would talk to their employers for better work hours and pay. The idea of unions still exists today and now I help the workers get what they want.
  • Look at that tree, it’s so dark and almost dead!
  • That is because of the smoke coming out of the Factories. It’s one of the negative impacts of the Industrial Revolution. The smoke ruins the atmosphere, reducing the breathing of trees. The industrial revolution hs destroyed so many forests this way. It is very sad.
  • Sure. Did you know that the telephone came from the industrial revolution. It allows us to communicate better from far distances too
  • Can we call Mom?
  • What's in that box?
  • It's an oven. We got it from the UK for your mom. The oven was shipped from there. This is only possible because the brand of the oven is globalized. A concept that comes from the Industrial Revolution.
