A middle school girl is plagued by stressful nightmares that are constantly attacking her self esteem and image. She wakes up one night, needing to de-stress somehow. She turns to exercise to do so.
No one likes you
No one loves you
It was really hard without mom around to talk to anymore. I didn't know how to cope, or how to feel okay again. Nightmares tormented me every night
Oh.. Right, exercise. Does it even actually work..?
"To be well in every way" she said.. "Physically, mentally, emotionally, socially"...
Even in the day I couldn't help but feel like everyone hated me. I needed to stop it that night.
Grandma! What are you doing down here so late?
Just exercising.. Couldn't sleep. Care to join me?
I just had to remember what it was that Mom said I needed to do to get better, to fight all the stress.
Yeah, Of course.. If we can both share a snack later too.
As I was walking down the stairs, I remembered. She always exercised a little bit and ate a good snack. She also talked to a friend if she could... But I couldn't do that, because it was the middle of the night.
Thankfully, I found the best friend I had already exercising downstairs.
