Verónica and Daniella are talking about what grade they each got in their physics class. Whilst discussing if they might get exempt, Daniella sees something moving out of the corner of her eye in side the classroom, the movement startled them both. Verónica exclaims at Daniella in a hushed tone to pull out her phone and record what was going on.
Veronica makes Daniella pull out her phone and start recording what she believed would be her big scoop for the school paper. Daniella is a little adamant to give her phone at first but compiles after a few harsh tugs at her arms and short pleas that had firm arguments. When she does comply, she does so with a sigh, saying how whatever she is after is probably a dead case. Nonetheless Veronica films Daniella and herself, she explains the situation they’re in. She then flips the camera to film the events through the small window. She tries to narrate what she is seeing and Daniella also tries to take peeks at what is going on behind the door.
Maybe we should ask his best friend!
The pair enter the classroom once the bell rings, they pretend the didn’t just see Jose steal a few pens from a classmate’s pencil case. They see Jose awkwardly walk over to his seat. When he glances at them, his pose is closed off with hunched shoulders and a cold look. The girls walk over to their seat, the phone camera films the interaction cunningly. They get a glimpse of the pens he took and Veronica breaks character to express her astonishment at how he is there early when he usually isn’t. Jose fakes a small chuckle and responds with a whispered yeah.
Jose is poor? So, does he steal to survive?
The next scene is filmed inside the classroom by Daniella’s phone, hidden behind their pencil cases. They talk in hushed voices as the try to explain what happened and their current situation. When doing this they alternate between who’s paying attention and who is talking as well as glancing at the back of the class, keeping an eye out for their classmate. During one of their switches Veronica sees Jose stare directly at them, a distant look with furrowed brows. Veronica tries to play it off coolly and tell Daniella that he may be growing suspicious.
This scene is filmed outside in the back of the school on a shady spot. They are discussing what to do, their suspicions, and what they are going to do. Whilst Veronica has a more open stance and participates more in the conversation, Daniella refrains from making as many comments and looks around more instead of being focused on the camera. They end up their conversation talking about how they should dig up some information about Jose.
In the same place as the last scene. They decide to call Jose’s best friend for some extra information about Jose. During the conversation states that it would be better to talk face to face. When he arrives they form a tight circle with only Daniella faltering in a few occasions. The best friend says many things about Jose’s recent behavior and how it’s irking him as well. In addition, he also shares a few interesting facts about his best friend’s family situation. The scene ends with Jose’s best friend agreeing to help them out in their quest to find out more about Jose. They agreed to stage a type of interrogation.
