They arrived at the wharf disguised as three native Americans. others assumed that they had authority to direct our operations to witch they readily submitted. they divided them into three parties one for each ship. they demanded for the keys to the hatches and a dozen candles.
The tackles had drawn up the chests.one brought them forward in the hold the other putting ropes around them, the others hoisting them onto the deck and on to the vessel's side. they then opened the chests and the tea was emptied over the sides.
It took about three hours but they had thrown over all the tea found on the ship. There were many people on the wharf but it was silent. after they were done the deck was swept clean and everything put back. An officer came up from the cabin to make sure that no harm was done to the ship just to the tea.
