  • Odysseus returns home to Ithaca but knowing the suitors might harm him, Athena changed his appearance to an old man.
  • BOOK: 17
  • Once Odysseus was changed he went to Eumeaus and there he saw his son after 20 years.
  • BOOK: 21
  • Telemachus took Odysseus into the palace to Penelope but disguised as an old man. The suitors treated him horribly not knowing it was Odysseus.
  • BOOK: 21
  • When Odysseus goes to the palace he sees his old dog. He laid on the floor and recognized Odysseus. Odysseus had him ever since he was a puppy.
  • Penelope takes out Odysseus bow and says who ever can shoot the bow through 12 axes she will marry them.
  • Who ever is able to shoot this bow, I will marry them.
  • All the suitors failed their attempts so finally the old man which was actually Odysseus shot the arrow successfully shot it and revealed himself to the suitors
