  • I am Woodrow Wilson and I declare neutrality during WWI.
  • YES! LETS BE NEUTRAL!!!!
  • NO NO NEUTRALITY!!!
  • Submarine warfare in the Atlantic Ocean kept tensions high between Germany and the United States.
  • British blockades against Germany took place.
  • Just letting you know that passenger ships will be warned before attack.
  • 2 DAYS LATER......  Germany and the United States broke off diplomatic relations.
  • OKAY... Good to know.
  • Hours later, the Germans attacked Lusitania, a British ship containing American passengers, which lead to the death of 114 Americans.
  • The Zimmerman Telegram was sent out in secret to Mexico by Germany, asking that if the United States and Germany ever shifted from their neutral state, then Mexico would join Germany in war. In this, Germany also offered Mexico U.S. territory which offended Americans once the telegraph was exposed by the British.
  • April 6, 1917
  • Heehee, We're a republic now!
