Storyboard Text

  • After the on going resistance, the remaining Sioux were force to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, 1890. This soon led to a religious revival among the tribes with the Ghost Dance
  • This began when prophet named Wovoka had a spiritual vision, he preached  positive messages of peace. Many Sioux believed that if they practiced the Ghost Dance and resist the ways of the white man, their gods would destroy all non-believers and then they can return to their native lands. This quickly spread throughout the US.
  • Many of the whites feared this would start a Indian rebellion, this caused more tensions between the US government and the American Indians
