Exposition: E and Noodle are best friends. E likes Ona and Noodles uses girls so they buy him stuff. E and Noodle both live in poverty and are poor, Ona is not
Rising action: E really likes Ona and she likes him. During school she asks E if he would take her to the dance. E agrees but starts to regret it because he has no money to buy a suit or to buy the tickets.
"You wanna take me to the dance?" (p.87 paragraph 7)
Rising action continued: Noodles convinces E that nobody wants to hire him and tells him the only way to get money is to steal it from those who lived in nice neighborhoods and had money.
Rising action continued: E meets Ona's family before he can take her to the school dance. While he's there, Ona's father is mean to E and judges him for the way he talks and behaves. It embarrasses Ona.
Rising action continued: E tells Noodles what happened at Ona's house with her father. Noodles tells him he needs to get revenge, E turns his advice down. This makes Noodles mad and he threatens "fix" her dad himself and also harm Ona.
"Yes it do matter. It matters anytime somebody treats you less than what you is." (p.94 second to last paragraph) "Don't worry, Ill fix her dad for you, and jack her up too." (p.95 third paragraph)
When E shows up at the dance hoping to meet Ona, He finds out she is not coming because her house was completely destroyed. Noodles confesses to E for doing it and tells him what he did. Climax:After finding out, E. decides to call the cops on Noodles because he destroyed Ona's house. Falling Action: E waited for the police to show up and drank punch and ate chocolate as he watched them arrest Noodles and come for him. Resolution: E and Noodles both get arrested.
" I told you, don't be disrespecting me. Not for no stinking girl." (pg.99 second to last paragraph)
