While Moses was out in the field tending to some sheep, he witnessed a nearby bush catch fire. God appeared as the bush. God said to Moses ' The cry of the Israelite's has now come to me; I have seen how the Egyptians oppress them. So come, i will send you to the Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.
During the ruling of Israel there was 3 Kings that ruled over time. First was Saul. Because of him the 12 tribes became divided. The ten tribes in the north became know as Israel while the other 2 in the south were called Judah. The second king was David, he reunited the all 12 tribes and lead Israel in defeating the Philistines. Lastly Solomon, Solomon wanted to fulfill the temple his father wanted. That resorted to taxing his people heavily. Soon many wanted a new king.
After the death of Alexander the land he had conquered was divided among the leading generals of his army. Jesus was then born 300 years later when Palestine was ruled by 2 generals. They were both Greek but did not always see eye to eye. These 2 ruled over Palestine for 150 years, one based in Syria north of Palestine and the other in Egypt south west of Palestine.
One reason why the Romans were able to build such a powerful empire in their day was the way in which they governed the people they conquered. once the Romans conquered land, they would carefully select leaders from the conquered people themselves to rule on behalf of the Romans. This was the cause of the choosing of Pontius Pilate and the death of Jesus.
Even from the start the journey to the Promise land and its leaders and kings had many problems. Palestine had many Kings who did know how to bring peace throughout the lands. Many kings had qualities of a king but many flaws that lead them to the anger of citizens and others. Although many kings sat on the thrown non could bring peace like Jesus did.
