they are taken to a crime scene where the chief of police explains a series of murders that have left the body's unidentifiable and a mark has been left on their chests. Smith investigates and finds a finger has been chopped off, she then sees the finger and realizes that it hasn't been covered in acid like the rest of his body has. they then proceed to take this so they can identify the body
they interviewed the identifiable body's brother who informs them of the mothers terrible patenting and abusive nature and how they were victims.
they investigate the family home where they find many clues. iris goes outside to check for any clues in the shed. the house smell strongly of burnt and iron.
iris goes out to the shed when the brother surprises her and knocks her out. he brings her into the shed and tells her of him killing those people and how he is going to kill her. he has the police officer and Rosemary tied up in the house and he is going to kill them too. his mother (the forensic scientist) had bought him to work and accidentally showed him how to kill someone making it unidentifiable. " I made a mistake when killing my brother but I'm not going to do the same for you. The all-seeing eye will win" - brother
"thought it might be you. you gave a really good show back at the police station but you won't fool me." she head buts him and breaks loose. she disables him and ties him to the chair. " i knew it was you. do you know how i knew? well you left a seires of clues that you didn't think of. did you not think the ashes of clothing and a strong smell of iron (blood) would not give of a bad sign."
