  • Hey! Have you answered our  worksheet in Research? Can I ask you something about it?
  • Oh sure! Let's meet at the hallways, maybe I'll be able to answer your question.
  • Their school bus arrives at the school.
  • Hi! I'm actually having a difficulty in differentiating quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Thank you! Sure, let me just get my books.
  • Really? I can help you on that. Do you want to go to the library?
  • Well, it's quite easy. Qualitative and quantitative research may differ in a number of things:  their purpose, type of data,  and manner in which they are collected .
  • Oh. Can you expound on that?
  • Well, I have prepared a presentation that can help you.
  • Quantitative - prove or disprove existing theory - computes for numerical values or statistics - data is collected through experiments - deductive process
  • Here are the basic differences between quantitative and qualitative researches.
  • Qualitative - building up a new theory or generalization - no numerical data that are statistically analyzed - data collected through surveys, interviews. etc. - inductive process
  • Thank you so much for helping me! I really learned a lot.
  • It's nothing! Anything for you.
  • Aw, you're really thoughtful. Let's go grab lunch!
