Storyboard Text

  • Traditionally, the Inuit built igloos and snow huts to keep warm.
  • Inuit people traveled across land and water in boats, kayaks and  sleds.
  • Hunters had to rely on hunting dogs and other companions on tracking wild animals for their kill. Inuits usually hunted caribou, foxes, seals, walruses, whales and other creatures.
  • Many Inuits live in modernized housing like this one, instead of their traditional snow huts and Igloos.
  • Modern Inuit people travel in modern machinery today (snowmobiles, trucks, cars, speed boats and motorized canoes).
  • Most Inuit today go to supermarkets to buy their food at local supermarkets, which is very expensive because of the location where the Inuit live in.
