Storyboard Text

  • Battle of the Alamo
  • Hmm....A from Sam Houston...I wonder what it says..
  • Victory or Death!
  • The bloodiest battle to be possibly fought ever occurred on March 6, 1836. Texan soldiers fought valiantly but yet was still defeated by the Mexican Army.
  • Faster you dumb idiots!
  • Because Sam Houston couldn't get to the Alamo in time he ordered William B Travis to go and flee. However, they defied his orders and persisted, staying at the Alamo to fight.
  • After a few days trouble was brewing. The Texans did not have enough men to fight. As a last resort, Travis wrote a letter to colonists urging them to join the fight. In total, he gained less than 100 men.
  • Remember the Alamo
  • Santa Anna had surrounded the Alamo with his soldiers, and for 13 days he fired cannons at it while training his soldiers and the men he had "recruited" to fight better. At the start of the battle, he had an estimated 1300 troops.
  • Meanwhile...
  • The next morning, the Battle of the Alamo began. It was bloodshed from the very beginning; the entire battle lasted less than a day. 600 Mexican soldiers were killed and everyone at the Alamo was killed, save for some women and children like Suzanne Dickenson, or the "Mother of the Alamo"
  • "Remember the Alamo" is a phrase to describe the horrors Texans faced years ago and as a way to "remember" all the lives that were lost there.
