  • The Great
  • Compromise
  • All in favor?
  • June 19, the states vote to work towards a national government based on the Virginia Plan, but still had representation issues
  • They still won't be satisfied
  • What about my idea?
  • Can we talk now?
  • Between Convention Delegates, tension grows and tempers are trifled with as they struggle to come up with solutions to challenging conflicts
  • Well, why don't you tell me a better idea
  • Is anybody else nervous?
  • I wonder if they'll even listen to us, now that we're the peacemakers.
  • Under the leadership of Ben Franklin, the convention appoints a "Grand Comitee" to help resolve their disagreeances
  • We'll be fine. Remeber, they appointed us
  • Roger Sherman, from Conneticut, proposed a compromise with a two-house legislature: -Upper House(The Senate):Where each state had two members -Lower House(House of Representatives):Where the number of seats would vary according to the state's population
  • Didn't we learn from the last two-house legislature
  • Not again...
  • Hear him out, we let you give your bad idea.
  • Please... just listen
  • No more two-house legislatures
  • It's better than John's idea
  • Sherman's idea was accepted and came to be known as the Great Compromise
  • Brilliant!
  • So, that's my idea
