THE CASK OF AMONTILLADO
Exposition In the time of Carnival in Italy, the narrator, Montressor, explains that a man named Fortunado had wronged him a thousand times over. His final insult was the key to revenge.
Rising Action Montressor tells Fortunado he owns some rare Amontillado Wine and lures him into the cellar. Fortunado is already half drunk and feeling ill. In the deepest crypt, there is a small opening and Montressor chains Fortunado inside of it.
Climax Montressor, leads Fortunado which is drunk deep into the catacombs. Fortunado was chained up inside a vault and Montressor begins to brick in the door and bury's him alive.
Falling Acting After Fortundo was chained up and being bricked in by Montressor. When Montressor got on his last brick, he noticed Fortunado became frantic, desperate, and finally became unresponsive. Montressor then finish his work and leaves.
Resolution "I forced the last stone into its position; I plastered it up against the new masonry I re-erected the old rampart of bones". This part comes when Montressor laid the last brick.
