  • Don't worry! Your immune system is working hard to keep you safe! The immune system is a group of cells tissue and organs that work together to get rid of pathogens which are potentially harmful bacteria. Lets move on to the next panel to learn more about the different parts since I am running out of space on this one.
  • NOOOO Bacteria is everywhere! I'm gonna get sick!
  • Your tonsils filters bacteria from the back of your throat. Peyer's patch does the same thing but in the stomach. Lymph nodes contain White blood cells that kill bacteria. Lymphatic vessels carry bacteria to lymph nodes to be eliminated. Then there is your spleen that holds, makes, and breaks red blood cells and thymus that produces WBC.
  • WOW! That was alot of info at once! Too bad you didn't have space to put it some where else.
  • There are also non-specific defences that protect you from all types of invaders. Your skin protect the out side and is acidic to kill them. When that fails, you experience inflammation that enlarge blood vessels, rushing blood through carrying WBC. Then there is the the complement system that enhances the power of WBC and antibodies.
  • NOO, this skin is killing me!
  • Another batch of long info. Are we realy that limmited in space?
  • Then there are specific defense that specialize in certain enemies. Memory cells (book) remember how to fight certain enemies and tells other cells. T-cells ( swords) are main fighters of bacteria and viruses. Macrophages(cannon) are big cells that are natural pathogen killers. Helper t cells (sticks) support the fighters by increasing their strength.
  • We can't win! Retreat!
  • Info says some enemies are over there!
  • B cells (plane) main function is to realese antibodies onto pathogens. Antibodies (red dots) stop pathogens from invading healthy cells and inform other cells of thier location.
  • Now I don't need to worry about anything! Thank you strange voice from the sky!
  • Don't thank me. Thank your immune system!
