Toussaint was very smart. He could read, write, and speak many languages. He had an AMAZING reputation.
He married Suzanne Simon, and they had two children
Louverture fought against france for Haiti's independence.
He was betrayed and kidnapped by Napoleon Bonaparte. He was given small portions of food and water. He ended up getting pneumonia and passed away. In 1804 Haiti gained its independence
