Storyboard Text

  • Always carry a flashlight in your car and on your car keys, you can use this as a weapon or as a tool to shine for help.
  • The first thing you should do when getting in or out of the car is to lock it in case someone tries to get in.
  • Also, hide bags under the seat so nobody breaks in.
  • Go during the day and stay in public places if someone tries to hurt you.
  • Always tell me or your mom when and where you are going for a run so we can help if you are in a bad situation.
  • There will be a ladder in every room in the house incase one of you needs to jumo out the window.
  • Charlotte's dad sits her down and wants to teach her how to be safe and have a survival mindset. The first thing he tells her is to always have a flashlight in the car to use as a weapon or to shine it to get help.
  • He then explains that she needs to lock her car before and after she gets out of the car incase someone tries to carjack. Hiding bags and wallets under the seat also decreases the chance of a car jacking so they don't habe anything to steal.
  • Your mom and I have decided that "blue dog" will be the code we say in an emergency.
  • Since Charlotte is a runner, he explained to her that she needs to tell her parents when and where she is going for a run so they can help her in an emergency. If something does happen, she needs to go to a public place, this can allow her to get help in a bad situation.
  • Charlotte will be in left back, Alex will be in right back and your mother and I in the front.
  • Her dad sat the family down to make a plan for a home invasion. They explained that in each room, there will be a ladder to put outside of the window to climb down in order to get help.
  • Their code phrase is "blue dog" in any emergency that the family needs to leave as soon as possible without any questions. Whether this is during a home invasion, outside by the car or in a store, this phrase is used to make sure everyone will know that this is a dangerous situation.
  • Finally, her dad gave each family member an assigned seat in the car so that if they ever need to run into the car for safety, they won't have to worry about fighting for which seat they want and can get to safety as soon as possible.
