  • It is the year of 1800  and America is preparing   for it's first ever contes ted   election yet.
  • The first contestant  is Aaron Burr, a Democratic Republican. Formally a Continental Army officer and a lawyer.
  • the second is Thomas Jefferson. He is  also a Democratic republican  who used to be  a Founding Father, French Ambassador, and wrote the Deceleration   of Independence. 
  • As the results of the election came in it was becoming    clear that each candidate got the same number of votes.  73 to be exact. 
  • As the vote went into The House it was greatly influenced by Alexander Hamilton. He was the leader of the Federalist  party. He liked neither of the candidates but his dislike for Burr was bigger.  
  • In the end of the Congress  vote, Jefferson Had 10 states while Burr had only four. this outcome took six days and Jefferson took the place of the third U.S President.
