  • 1066, battle of Hastings
  • I am Harold unfortunately I just got killed
  • Senlac Ridge
  • 1380, Northampton castle
  • We need money
  • 1381, some woods near Fobbing, Essex 
  • Now England is controlled by the Normans. They bring with them the feudal system and the doomsday book - instruments for the oppression of the peasantry.
  • Early Summer, 1381
  • The King and his advisers brought in a new pole tax. He needed lots of money to fund the war and his claim to the French throne. He taxed the church but it was not enough. He needed to tax the common people.
  • 13th June, 1381
  • The villagers have just killed some tax collectors. They are fed up with the present regime and the instability caused by the pestilence. They have fled to the woods in order to begin a revolt.
  • The rebels force many clergymen swear to their cause.
  • Wat Tyler and his gang of Kentish rebels enter London when somebody opens the gates for them.
  • Come on everbody, let's go to London
