Hello and good morning Rome. Today we have a very special guest with us. Our family specialist Ms. Dudelshatel.
Thank you for inviting me Myra. It is a joy to be here. Today I want to talk about the role of mother in the family.
Here she is...
As you can see here is a family. A mother a father and two kids. Today we are going to focus on the role of the mother in the family.
1-The role of the mother in Rome is looking after the household
Women in Ancient Rome were responsible for the household. No matter which social class, women are in their one job never changes, looking after their children.
Come on children. We need to head home.
2-The role of the mother in Rome is to control the house when the father is away.
Children your dad is not here today so I will be in control. Nicholas you need to study for school. Maria you help me with the dishes and then clean you and your brother's room. I need to go and do dad's bussiness
The mother would be the head of the family when the father was away. The mother would also take care of the father's work if needed.
Sure tell the children to come downstairs please...
3-The role of the mother in Rome is to obey husband/men and their family.
Wife cook the meal and then wash the dishes please.
When a woman got married all her rights were owned by her husband. The wives were under the rule of their mother in-laws. There is not a lot that is written about women because they weren't as important as men.
