  • The Questions show with Grace Walsh
  • Hi my name is Grace Walsh welcome to my new show. Today we will be talking about commonly confused words. Lets go!
  • 1. your and you're 2. their;there;they're
  • Your invading my space.
  • CLEAN YOU'RE ROOM! YOUR SUCH A SLOB, THEY'RE RULES IN THIS HOUSE YOU KNOW!
  • See if you can find the word mistakes both the mom and the teen uses
  • In the first situation the girl working out said affect instead of effect. "Affect" means make a difference and is a verb, so she was suppose to say "effect" which means a result or conseqeunce and is usually used as a noun. The next situation is the exact opposite she says effect instead of affect. It is very easy to switch all of these words. So be careful, thanks for watching!!
  • There are 4 confused words in this situation.  "Your "which should be "you're" because it is a contraption which means you are, while "your" means belonging to someone. That word confusion happens twice in the situation. Then the mom says "they're", which is also a contraption and means they are. Instead of "their" which shows possession. Lastly if you want to use "there" it means, in that place or position. NEXT TWO SITUATIONS!!
  • Your not going to get the affect you want if you keep staring at me.
  • Only if I can look at you!!!
  • 3. Effect and Affect
  •
  • HAHA! They think I'm innocent!
  • She is such a liar!
  • This new evidence is effecting my decision on whether to put you in jail or not.
